Top leaders of the Pakistan Democratic Movement or PDM are set to address a public gathering in Dera Ghazi Khan on Sunday.
Demonstrating their political prowess, preparations are in full swing for the public meeting at Railway Road in the city, including hoisting banners, flags of various PDM constituents and placards on major roads in the city.
According to Marriyum Aurangzeb, the public gathering will prove to be a referendum against what she called the cruel government.
When asked about the possibility of bringing PPP back into PDM fold, Rana Sanaullah said that they did not have time for appeasing anyone, adding that it was the right time to get rid of the government.
In a related development, Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar said that public gatherings and protests would not put the country on the path to progress.
“There is no room for anarchy in the country and this is not the time for demonstrating negative politics,” he said.
In a message to PDM leaders, Buzdar said that he expected the opposition, especially PDM, to act in a responsible manner.
“Pakistan’s vital interests must be held above everything else,” Buzdar maintained.
